50 Years Later – The Return of Holy Week at the Oratory

That first taste of springtime, we all feel it; A little surge of energy and hope as the weather warms and the flowers start to bloom. Everything is waking up. At the heart of the season, we celebrate Easter, a God who has woken up from death once and for all, bringing us a new life and new hope.

Following the National Eucharistic Congress last year, it seems like the Church has stepped into a springtime all Her own. Reports of record numbers of conversions, particularly on college campuses and among the youth. Those who have been skeptical of their childhood faith, suddenly being moved to return home. It’s been a particularly vibrant springtime in Rome City as well. Half a dozen candidates are preparing to enter into full communion with the Church this Easter at Saint Gaspar parish.

We have been blessed to host Saint Gaspar at the Oratory of the Holy Family since last fall as they expand their campus to accommodate their growing congregation. We had the great joy of celebrating the first Christmas at the Oratory since 1975 with them, now we have the great joy of celebrating the first Holy Week since 1975 in a consecrated chapel. It has been very life-giving to see the return of holy days and sacraments at the Center.

The liturgical schedule is listed below. We would love to have you join in these historic, springtime celebrations as we commemorate the death and resurrection of Christ.
