We Are Preparing for Your Visit
Stop by this Summer We are busy getting ready for Our Lady’s children. The grounds are being prepared, repairs are wrapping up, and improvements are in the works. But it is all pointless without you! Dining Room Tear Down A building in the process of collapse is being taken down for safety. It was an extension to the dining room added around 1955. Plaza Repair On the south Plaza, a retaining wall was failing. Not only was it eating away at the plaza, but it was also a safety concern, causing us to close the path below. Over the winter,

St. Joseph’s Lily, Gives Meaning to Our Lady of America’s Lily
What is the significance of the lily? It actually matters quite a bit. In Catholic art and tradition, the lily symbolizes a deeper reality. In Catholic culture, the lily is known by many names, such as the Annunciation Lily, Easter Lily, Madonna Lily, and Resurrection Lily, each with a different meaning. Today, let us explore the meaning behind the lily associated with St. Joseph, often called the Lily of Purity. Let’s examine how the lily of St. Joseph teaches us about the Holy Family. In this article, I aim to explore how the lily is used to symbolize the eternally

Our Lady and the Saint Joseph River – Rekindle the Fire Men’s Conference South Bend

It was great to get the message of the devotion out to the South Bend half of our diocese. We saw many familiar faces, but met even more new ones. Since the conference, we have had many pilgrims from South Bend stop by to take a tour of the center. As sponsors, we also got the opportunity to give a short presentation to attendees after

50 Years Later – The Return of Holy Week at the Oratory
That first taste of springtime, we all feel it; A little surge of energy and hope as the weather warms and the flowers start to bloom. Everything is waking up. Following the National Eucharistic Congress in June 2024, it seems like the Church has stepped into a springtime all Her own. Reports of record numbers of conversions, particularly on college campuses and among the youth. Those who have been skeptical of their

How to Get the Artesian Spring Water
Many pilgrims come to drink and take with them the reportedly healing spring water which flows non-stop from an artesian spring on the south side of the building. In 2022, we built a three-spigot water fount on the south plaza. This water fount is just feet from the actual source of the artesian sping which is about 6 feet below the surface of the parking lot.
While the water flows from the spring naturally, we do use a pump to get it to the water fount. The spring and the basins of the fount drain over the side of the hill forming a waterfall. For the safety of pilgrims, we recommend that water for drinking only be collected from the water fount and not the side of the hill.
