As America celebrates 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Rome City is planning a major celebration to commemorate the anniversary! The Patroness of America Center will be opening our south lawn for people to watch the fireworks show on July 4th. Parking is available at the center, all day; at 8:00 pm people can walk to our south lawn for prime viewing location. Fireworks over Sylvan Lake will begin at dusk. Join us on September 13th for the Fifth Annual Walking Pilgrimage in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the devotion to Our Lady of America. We will walk along Fishingline Trail from Kendallville to Our Lady, Patroness of America Center in Rome City, with varying starting points and times based on the distance you want to walk. Following the walk, there will be a time of Adoration and Benediction, with dinner and fellowship on the plaza afterward.
