First Friday Devotions – Celebrant, Monsignor Joseph Schaedel

September 6 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm EDT

The Oratory welcomes back Monsignor Joseph Schaedel from the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.

After we received Bishop Kevin Rhoades’ decree in November 2020 establishing the Our Lady, Patroness of America Center as a place of Pilgrimage and allowing the Sacraments of the Church in the Chapel, we were allowed the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.   On the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, December 8th, 2020 (the height of the COVID-19 pandemic), Monsignor Schaedel offered the First Mass under the Bishop’s Decree in our Chapel. Monsignor has been a steadfast and fervent supporter of the devotion to Our Lady, the Immaculate Virgin, Patroness of America (Our Lady of America); during the long years of litigation to free the devotion from false claims of ownership, Monsignor was an advocate, advisor, and friend.

In November 2007, Monsignor welcomed the Our Lady of America statue to the Indianapolis parish of Holy Rosary, where he was assigned as Pastor.  Our Lady of America – Indianapolis Visitation

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered at 6 p.m. on the first Friday of September in the Oratory of the Holy Family in reparation for offenses against the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Monsignor Schaedel will be the celebrant for this Mass! The Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. before Mass begins. After Mass ends, there will be a light supper and time for fellowship!

Confession before Mass.
