On Friday December 16, 2023 @ 7:00PM the Oratory of the Holy Family will host a free musical event of Scripture and Song. The Festival of Lessons and Carols is a service of Scripture and song that dates to the late 19th century.  In this service, we listen to nine Scripture lessons which recount the Fall, the promise of a Messiah, the Incarnation, and the Great Commission to preach the Good News.  Each lesson is followed by a carol or other song that reflects on the lesson’s message and a brief prayer. Starting April 28th and every Friday until Labor Day, the Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be offered in prayer. If weather permits, we will meet on Holy Family Hill, otherwise in the Oratory.

Come and honor Our Lady and celebrate the anniversary marking the date on which the devotion to Our Lady of America was started. The walk will be similar to last year along the Fishing Line Trail from Kendallville to Rome City and the Oratory of the Holy Family.  Details to follow, but mark the date.

On Friday, December 1st @ 7:00 pm, the Oratory of the Holy Family will host the Festival of Lessons and Carols. To honor the First Friday devotions, we will be praying the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary at 6:15 pm. On March 1st and 2nd, Father Kevin Barrett will be celebrating Mass in conjunction with the First Friday and First Saturday devotions, and giving a presentation on imitating the Holy Family and on family consecration. Father Kevin Barrett is the chaplain for the Apostolate for Family Consecration. Recognizing our shared mission, he has been a long time supporter of Our Lady of America. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered at 11 am on the first Saturday of March in the Oratory of the Holy Family in reparation for offenses against the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The Holy Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 am before Mass begins in the side chapel in front of the statue of Our Lady the Immaculate Virgin, Patroness of America.
